getting a jockstrap

my physical education teacher said that all of us need to wear a jockstrap. then he said that we need to also wear a cup on certain days. my problem is that i have neither of these. how can i tell my dad that i need to buy a jockstrap and cup without being embarrassed?
what size cup should i get?  i am a medium build but ive been told from the guys in the lockerroom that i have a big package for my age.
how can i phrase it to make it less awkward?

there isnt different cup sizes. u just get the size jockstrap that u would wear of ur boxers or whatever u wear. the cup comes with it.
